????At 16:30 pm of April 8th, the vessel named “MOL Triumph” with the length of 399.9m, the width of 58.8m, and the maximum slot number of 20170TEU smoothly berthed in the 3rd phase container wharf of Qian Wan, Qingdao Port. This is the largest container vessel in the world, the first container vessel under operation with the loading capacity of over 20,000 TEU in the world as well as the container vessel with the most slots ever berthing in Qingdao Port.
????Efficiency is an important measuring indicator for the competitiveness of container wharf. Since this year, the average loading and offloading efficiency per crane has increased by 3%, the average efficiency per crane of over 8000TEU vessels has increased by 5%. Take the COSCO European shipping line for instance, in the first 2 months of this year the average efficiency per bridge crane is 30 TEU/hour, the average efficiency per berth is 169 TEU/hour. In the recently issued 2017 Comprehensive Service Evaluation Index of Coastal Container Ports, Qingdao Port ranked 1st in terms of production efficiency among Chinese major coastal container ports.
